I recently traveled to Antigua and I received a few questions about my trip so I decided to share all the details. One of the most frequent questions was “Why Antigua?”

Being that Antigua is such a small island, many people (including myself) either don’t know much about it or know it even existed. The more I looked into it the more I fell in love with the idea of visiting.

So why Antigua? Because its small! Just because travel restrictions are being lifted does not mean COVID is gone. We still wanted to take as much precautions as possible and we learned Antigua is very tiny and they follow all the safety precautions we do here in the states (masks, covid test requirements, safe hand hygiene). We took a COVID test 3 days prior to traveling to the island and another test 2 days before going home straight from the resort.

The second most asked question I received was, “Where is Antigua?Antigua, also known as Antigua and Barbuda is an Island located in the eastern Caribbean sea. The flight was 4 hours and 15 minutes from New York and we did all our booking via Travelocity.

Lastly, “Where did we stay?” We did some research and looked at several good options. However, we chose Keyonna Beach Resort. Main reason being how close to the beach the resort is (less than a minute away from our room). And boy was it worth it. The water was so blue and clear, top 3 favorite beach for sure!

This was a relaxing trip for us. We were looking to destress and do as little as possible so of course we were sold on how small and close everything was. We also fell in love with the idea of small cottages. We had so much privacy and were able to maintain distance from the other guests through out the entire trip.

However, with that being said, the entertainment at the resort was minimal and zero night life. They had live music during dinner but that’s about it. After dinner, all you hear is crickets. So if you are looking to party and “turn up” this is not the place for you.

It’s an adults only resort, tailored for couples and VERY romantic. It’s perfect for a couples getaway, honey moon or to get engaged!

I got proposed to during this trip! My Fiancé reserved a candle lit dinner on the beach for us! It was the most romantic dinner I have ever had, making this trip so memorable for us

Antigua will forever have a piece of my heart!
