Wellbeing during a pandemic
Hi everyone!
This blog post is long overdue. To be completely honest, it is always difficult to give
advice
on something that you are also struggling with. This period of finding normalcy mid pandemic has been challenging to say the least. I can say I have fully adjusted to working from home and thought long and hard about how life can end in a split second and we should live it to the fullest, but aside from that, this pandemic has left me feeling lost. It feels like these days, the energy has spread thin.
Travel plans are canceled, social distancing is still recommended, we continue to fight for black lives, supporting local businesses, staying informed, etc,. Where do we go from here?
How do we really move on from a PANDEMIC that is still pretty much happening? After much research, the conclusion is
we don't.
We adapt. We find ways of adjusting to this new normal using what is within our reach.
I was feeling very discouraged for weeks to post anything on my blog because it all seems so irrelevant when you look at the bigger picture (fashion, home decor, trends), its just not important to me at the moment. But then I realized, the only one putting pressure on me was myself. There is no time-frame in which we are expected to find normalcy again. No one is asking me to move on. I have time.
Which brings me to the point of this blog post:
TAKE YOUR TIME.
This really took me a while to digest but we need to take our time, whatever that is, to bounce back. We have gone through something life-altering, even traumatic for many. We need time to heal, to process, and to digest.
To finalize, I just want to remind you to be gentle with yourself, postpone that "to-do list" and indulge in activities that make you feel good; call that friend, watch that movie, take that walk, order takeout from that restaurant you have been craving. YOU HAVE TIME.
Sending positive vibes to you!
